For
the last 25 years, the Molecular Biosciences Training Grant (MBTG)
program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison has enhanced the
training of highly promising graduate students who intend to become
leaders in the fields of cellular, biochemical and molecular sciences.
Past trainees are now professors at top-ranked universities (e.g.,
MIT, Stanford, UCLA, UCSD) and research directors at leading companies
(e.g., Glaxo Wellcome, Lilly Research Labs, Novartis).
The
goal of the MBTG program is to enhance the training opportunities
available to graduate students in our strong Ph.D. programs in the
cellular, biochemical and molecular sciences at UW-Madison. Most MBTG
trainees are enrolled in one of four nationally recognized Ph.D. programs:
Biochemistry, Biomolecular Chemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology
(CMB), and Microbiology. Each of these Ph.D. programs provides excellent
training to its graduate students. The MBTG program uses the resources
supplied by the NIH to provide unique interdepartmental and interdisciplinary
experiences that build upon this strong foundation.
